I thought after watching the film today it was ok.It wasn't I think the best film this year. I liked the visuals and the 3D was good, but overall it wasn't my favourite film this year.
I enjoyed today and can't wait for christmas. It was a shame only a few from Confetti came to see the film today.

Happy Holidays

Today Kelly had shown us a documentary about slasher films like Halloween.

To be honest I'm not a fan of horror films and then watching a documentary just about horror films I didn't think I would enjoy it.

After watching the documentary about slasher films it's made me quite interested in the genre of film and has made me want to start watching them. I don't know why I enjoyed the documantary so much. Maybe it could the suspense action or maybe it could be the frill of being scared, but I can truely say I enjoyed this morning and hope to start adding more films to my DVD collection.

Banned Video Games in Brazil

Banned video games in Brazil

Back in the December of 1999 Brazil banned many video games due to a man killing three and injuring eight people which is horrible.

Here is a list of a few games that are banned in Brazil.

Bully on PS2, Wii and 360 was banned due to violence and harassment in a school setting.

Doom, Duke Nukem 3D, Postal and Mortal Kombat are all banned due to the high impact violence.

Also Counter Strike was also banned in Brazil due to the high impact violence, but in June 2009 the game was allowed to be sold again in stores.

Video Game Animator

Being an animator in the video game industry is something I would like to do for a living.
The main skills needed to be a good animator is to have skills in traditional animation (2D) and in modern computer animation (3D).
When you finally get a job being an animator in the future, for the first three years you can earn up to £28,500 a year. Then after those three years the next three you can earn a decent £41,000 a year.
Then the next three you can get around £46,000 a year.
If you get hired as a lead animator, your first three years you can earn around £49,000 a year and then after those or even longer you can earn an excellent £80,000 to a whopping £130,000 a year.

An animator's main talent is their imagination. You need to be very creative to be an animator, as you are brining the characters in the game to life.

But what does an animator do?
If working with 3D animation like in video games, first an animator will draw out the character they want to animate freehand and then they will scan them into the computer and manipulate them with the software on the computer.
To be a video game animator you need to be dedicated to spend long hours in front of the computer animating their characters and bringing them to life.

Bloody SONY!

Yesterday should of been an enjoyable day for as I had just bought a brand new SONY PSP go from game station. sadly it turned out to be really stressful.
When I got home from game station with my new PSP go I charged it, updated it, entered my PSN details and then it told me to deactivate 5 other PSPs before I could download anything. WTF!!!
Over the years I have had all the PSP models and some I have sold at game station and Ebay and some have broke.
But never have I been told at game station or by Sony to deactivate them.
So soon enough I'm on the phone to SONY UK and I'm talking to someone half way round the world and all she can tell me to deactivate the other PSPs.
Then I tell her that it's not humanly possible to do that as how can I track down a broken PSP from 3 years ago? Then she asks me if I can remember the products number at the bottom of the PSPs.
I say I can't as the product number is about 25 digits long.

Then I tell her I want to speak to someone higher constantly other and other again.
Then she says finally OK sir.
THANK YOU!
For then then him to tell me that it's going to take a week or two to deactivate the other PSPs.
So I said to him so basically I have spent £250 today and I can't do anything with it.
He says that is correct sir.
So I'm saying to him I'm getting my money back because this is useless and I'm getting a brand new Ipod touch because at least the ipod is more reliable.
He then says to me OK sir.

Computer game platforms and technologys

Today I played the following games Left for Dead, Counter Strike, Counter Strike Source for the PC, Unreal Tourament 3 for PS3 and Street Fighter 4 for the Xbox 360.

I mainly want to compare counter strike and counter strike source. Counter strike source is a newly updated version of counter strike. The main difference i found was that the graphics had changed dramatically. For example the textures on counter strike weren't not as detailed as on source. Also the characters were very pixelated. The hills and objects were all very rectangular and looked quite poor. On counter strike source the sound quality was alot better for example the background music and sound effects.
I also experienced alot of lag on the original conter strike this is not good as it ruins the game and makes the game less fun.

I also had a look on left for dead on the PC. I have played a bit of left for dead on the Xbox 360 and can clearly see that the PC version of the game has better graphics. I alos prefer playing shooters with a xbox or playstation controller compared to using a keyboard and mouse. I would also like to mention about the first cinematic cutscene for left fo dead and I was quite impressed. The cut scene looked well animated and was well rendered. It made great use of the surround sound and had some decent sound effects. The voice acting was ok as I thought it could of been better. But overall i think the cutscene was good and gets the gamer in the mood for the game.

I also had a little go on street fighter 4 for the xbox 360. I had never played this game since today and I had high expectations. Sadly It did not meet them. I did like the graphics street fighter 4, as I like the style of the art. But I didn't like the controls as it was very complex.

Overall it was a good lesson and I enjoyed it.
