My Sister's Birthday

The sound of laughter and screams from family's enjoying the surroundings of the water park faded away as we turned a corner heading for the locker room. As soon as I turned the corner a long line of lockers were straight ahead, all locked and left with visitors valuables and clothing as they enjoyed a day at the splash park. Except for one! One locker was ripped apart like an neglected and unwanted present. Walking closer and closer to the locker we had realised the locker was ours, the bags were on the edge of falling out after they had been shoved back inside. Opening what was left of the locker we soon discovered not all of our bags and clothes were to be seen nor found. As it hit home to us that most of our stuff had been stolen, my sister and her friends were distraught by the lose of their personal belongings. The fury that was building up inside, sickened me to the point if I had came face to face with the person who had caused this event to us, I would have not been responsible for my actions. As my farther went to get help, I stayed with my sister and her friends hoping that this day which should have been a day to remember for good reasons rather than tragic memories.

My first blog in ages!

Well..... It's been a while since my last blog and since then I have been up to a lot of things over the past month or so and one of those things has been learning to play the drums.

I know what everyones thinking what a quiet person like me playing such a loud instrument like the drums....Well yes that is correct.

I have been learning to play them for just over a month now and I don't like to brag about it but I getting it and picking it up nicely. I been practicing on my own drum kit which had to save up for with the help of my Dad. I always wanted to play the drums for ages (this is going back to year 7) and now I finally start learning.

So thats what I have been up to over the past month and also working on assignments too.

Last week I was set a task to play an RPG. I usually play racing and platformers like Super Mario.

Before being set the task I had only really played one RPG that I can remember and that was Final Fantasy Crisis Core for the PSP. I only played it because it was bundled with my PSP. I played but after that I still didn't go and buy more and more RPG's on the market.

Now a few years later and now I'm a bit older I was set the task to play an RPG. The game I had chosen to play was Blue Dragon for my Xbox 360. I have only been playing the game since Friday and I would say I'm really enjoying it. I like the cartoony art style. Also I like the quick time events that occur in the game. I will watch them and forget I'm playing a game and I think I'm watching an animated film. What I mean is the detail and the characters are so well done they are very believable and can get you carried away.

Gameplay wise, I can't believe how long I spend searching in each area looking for hidden items and gold. I spend ages looking next to every tree around and rock.

So far I have been playing Blue Dragon for just over 4 hours (not at once) and It has kinda made me want to play more RPGs in the future. Lets ope so.

I will carry on blogging about Blue Dragon while I'm still playing it to see If I am still enjoying the game or not.

New Super Mario Bros. Wii in more depth

This blog continues from where my last blog about me talking about the pros and cons of New Super Mario Bros. Wii.

I've been playing the game since christmas and so far I'm enjoying the game, but why? Why am I enjoying the game so much? Looking back at the game and other past Mario platformer games are that of the pros that I talk about in my last blog. Those list of pros are what I enjoy and think highly of the game.

One thing I personally enjoy about the game is in some levels you have to figure stuff out while playing the level. For example the final boss in world two you have to go a certain path to reach the boss. If you don't go the right path the level just carries on repeating itself over and over till the time runs out. Why I like this as soon as you get used to going from A to B any way you want, then the game restricts you and makes more harder. I also like the idea because as soon as I had finished it I got a sence of acomplishment after.

New Super Mario Bros. Wii

Since Marios debute into the video game world he has been in a lot of game genres from racing to a RPG and Sports to party games. But the on genre which he basically owns the title of is the platformer genre. Over the years Mario has moved up from starting in 2-D and now in 3-D titles from the likes of Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Galaxy.

Right, I was set a task to play any game I want and blog about about the pros and cons of that game. The game I had choosen was the New Super Mario Bros. Wii. The game takes Mario back into 2-D platforming back on the home console and which had not been seen for 19 years on the Super Nintendo.

The game adds new features ino the series for example having 4 players at once in the same level. One person controls Mario and three others take the roles of Luigi, and two toads (one yellow and one blue).

Another feature is having more power ups to play with and help you through the 80 levels ahead and thats not including the mini games too. The new power ups include a propeller suit, an ice suit and a penguin suit. They are all enjoyable addisions to the game put a personal favurite of mine is the propeller suit as it lets you exceed new heights to find extra coins and hidden doors to earn power ups (extra lives).

Graphics wise the game looks nice but the game morely focuses on gameplay, very addictive and stressful gameplay. What I mean is when you die or finish a level you want to carry on playing and I keep saying to myself "one more go, one more go" and you could be playing the game for ages and keep saying that to yourself. It can be stressful as the level dificulty is very hard and I could be dieing stupidly and get really stressed out at it as I always die at a certain part, but as it so addictive I still carry on playing it.

Pros.

• Addictive
• 4 players at once is very fun with family and friends
• great selection of power ups
• Thoughtful and interesting levels (Most level challenge the player by making them think how to get through the level)
• Brillient gamplay
• Hard (I put this in the advantages as you don't won't the game to be too easy which makes it boring to play).
• Keeps the gamer interested (long lasting)
• Great soundtrack

Cons.

• Can be stressful
• annoying enemies appaer when you don't want them too.
• More Yoshi please

I thought after watching the film today it was ok.It wasn't I think the best film this year. I liked the visuals and the 3D was good, but overall it wasn't my favourite film this year.
I enjoyed today and can't wait for christmas. It was a shame only a few from Confetti came to see the film today.

Happy Holidays

Today Kelly had shown us a documentary about slasher films like Halloween.

To be honest I'm not a fan of horror films and then watching a documentary just about horror films I didn't think I would enjoy it.

After watching the documentary about slasher films it's made me quite interested in the genre of film and has made me want to start watching them. I don't know why I enjoyed the documantary so much. Maybe it could the suspense action or maybe it could be the frill of being scared, but I can truely say I enjoyed this morning and hope to start adding more films to my DVD collection.
